Activities with the Rising-up Scholarship Program

Since April 2025, several students from the Greenleaves program have been participating in special gatherings organized by the Rising-up ("Vươn Lên") scholarship foundation. This is an educational support initiative by the Đông Du Foundation for Educational Advancement, founded by Mr. Nguyễn Đức Hòe.
The Rising-up Scholarship is intended for students with dreams and visions to give back to society. Applicants are expected to have a clear plan to realize their study goals, a strong will to overcome challenges, a passion for social engagement and teamwork, a caring attitude, and a solid sense of responsibility.
Scholarship recipients will receive financial support. They also must attend monthly gatherings organized by the foundation and read at least one book per month (on topics such as the art of living, personal development, or classical literature). The books are provided by the foundation.
In the spirit of “the power of synergy”, and after thorough consideration, testing, and with the approval of the foundation’s leadership, several students from the GiKaD program have been invited to take part in the activities of the Rising-up scholarship group. The goals include:

  • Drawing inspiration from the life stories told by Mr. Nguyễn Đức Hòe – a dedicated and influential teacher who wholeheartedly supports the younger generation – and through that, gain valuable life experiences.
  • Developing key skills that are essential in today’s world such as public speaking, critical thinking, reflective reasoning, problem-solving, and teamwork.
  • Expanding social networks by connecting with talented students from various fields and universities while learning the spirit of teamwork and community engagement.
  • Build self-confidence and leadership qualities by expressing your ideas, leading group activities, or helping organize programs.
  • Practicing effective time management to balance schoolwork, part-time jobs, and activities organized by the foundation.
  • Exploring future career opportunities through the connections made in these gatherings.

This is a valuable opportunity for the students – not just a series of social gatherings, but a journey that helps young people to grow and mature day by day.
